The INNbox Messaging System



INNsight has its own internal messaging system called INNbox. INNbox operates very similarly to a traditional email system with an inbox that contains all of your incoming messages, an outbox with your outgoing messages, a contact list, and a trash folder. The INNbox allows travelers to communicate with one another and with INNkeepers. We felt that researching and booking a stay at an INN might require some interaction. For example, you might have a special request or you might have forgotten something in your room after checking out. INNbox allows you to easily contact the INNkeeper and pose questions or even just stay in touch and ask about availability for a future stay.

Solve Problems
I can't find a message in my INNbox
You can navigate your INNbox by flipping through the pages below or filter by From/To, Subject, Status, and Date. If you still cannot find the message, enter your search terms in the search box at the top right of your INNbox and we will run a search of your INNbox and return all messages that are related. The Search Results will show an icon that will explain if that message is from your INNbox or your Outbox. Simply click on the message subject to open the contents of the message itself.
I have an issue with my reservation—how do I contact the INNkeeper
You can contact the INNkeeper several ways. The easiest way to contact an INNkeeper is to go to the INN's Property Profile Page and send a message from the Contact INNkeeper module by clicking on 'Ask a Question'.
I no longer want to receive notifications or messages
If you would like to limit the types of messages you receive you can edit your message settings in My Account. Go to My Account and click on the 'Email Alerts' tab. In the Email Alerts tab you can limit the types of messages that are sent to your INNbox.

How do I send a message?



In order to send a message via INNbox, you need to have a recipient for your message. When you first register, you have only one contact in your contact list—INNsight. You can send us a message at any time if you require any assistance by sending a message to INNsight Admin. To send us a message, go to INNbox, and click on 'Compose Mail' at the top right corner of the INNbox. The Compose Mail dialog will open up. Type 'INNsight' in the To: field and enter your message subject and content and then click the 'Send Message' button.

Sending a message to an INNkeeper is very easy. When you are researching for a place to stay and come across a Property Profile Page for an INN where you would like to stay, you can click on 'Ask a Question' in the Contact INNkeeper module. Clicking on 'Ask a Questions' will open a Compose Mail dialog where you can type in your message to the INNkeeper. After you send your message, you can find it in your OutBox as a sent message.



After you have sent a message to an INNkeeper, they are automatically added to your Contacts list. You can click on the Contacts link in the left navigation and see all the INNsight members who are in your contacts list. You can find a contact and click on 'Send message'. Clicking on 'Send message' will open up the Compose Mail dialog and allow you to type your message.

You can reply to messages and forward messages in your INNbox by clicking on Reply or Forward. For example, you can reply to your Reservation Confirmations or Invoice messages and send inquiries to the INNkeeper directly. By clicking on the Reply or Forward link you will be taken to a Compose Mail dialog with the original message in line. You can add recipients to your message by clicking on the small address book icon. The address book will open your contacts list and allow you to add recipients to your message. After you are done drafting your message, click on 'Send Message' and your message will be on its way!

What types of messages appear in my INNbox?
The following message types appear in your INNbox:
Invoices: Invoices from your INNkeeper are sent to your INNbox after you have checked out from your stay at the INN.
Reservations: Whenever you make a reservation, a Reservation Confirmation is automatically sent to your INNbox with the details of your booking.
Travelers: Messages from your fellow travelers in the INNsight community.
System: Messages from INNsight regarding system wide issues, concerns, or promotions.

How do I add someone to my Contact List?
INNsight Members and INNkeepers are automatically added to your contact list whenever you send them a message. You can always delete any unwanted connections by going to your Contacts list and clicking on the 'x' at the upper right hand corner of the contact card for that member. You can also add members to your Contacts by clicking on 'Connect' on each member's public profile page.

How do I view sent messages?

You can view sent messages by clicking on the Out link. The Out link will take you to your OutBox and show you all of your sent messages.

How do I delete a message?

Deleting a message from your INNbox is very simple. You can delete messages from your INNbox or your Outbox. Simply select the checkbox alongside the message(s) that you'd like to delete and click on the 'Delete' button at the bottom of the window. You can also delete individual messages by clicking on 'Delete' from the mouse-over links that appear when you hover over the message. All messages that you delete will be sent to your Trash folder. You can restore messages from your Trash folder by selecting them and clicking on 'Restore'. To remove your messages from the Trash, you will need to delete them from your Trash folder by selecting them and clicking on 'Delete' from your Trash folder.

How do I search for a message?

Searching for a message in INNbox is very easy. Simply go to your INNbox and search for the keyword or term that you believe was in the subject or body of your INNbox message by entering that term in the search box and clicking on the search icon. We will run a search of your INNbox and return all messages that are related. The Search Results will show an icon that will explain if that message is from your INNbox or your Outbox. Simply click on the message subject to open the contents of the message itself.
