This is a classic hotel, quite different from a standard Marriott or similar hotel. Our room was elegant, with a very interesting decor and ample size. Everything about the room was perfect for a stay longer than one night. Lots of storage space.
Bad Tags
Wi-Fi was intermittent and hotel restaurant was not open in the evening.

My room had only one available electric plug I could find, behind the mini-fridge. Very much below par for a traveler who must charge multiple devices every night.

Staff always strived to assist in every way to minimize my need for help. The rooms were always cleaned and resupplied with clean towels, etc., every time I left for the day and never needed additional cleaning.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like.

My disabled husband was traveling with me on a business trip, an accessible king was booked, and a roll in shower was requested in an ADA room. Best they could do was 2 queens with a tub and grab bars. 2 modified showers for a $---- stay is terrible.

The staff was phenomenal! The front desk clerk was empathetic and supportive of our situation and worked very hard to resolve the problem with our room. When we arrived, there were no double rooms available, even though we had pre-paid for the room.
Bad Tags
The room had mold and water damage. The ceiling above the window kept dropping particles on the carpet. There was a growth of plaster and mold hanging from the ceiling. The hotel was overbooked and there was not place left to go because we had pre-paid.

The hotel is large and elegant. It is so close to dining options and not a very far walk to Adams Morgan, an area full of craft beer bars and ethnic restaurants, more of a younger crowd area. The Metro is about a block away. Just loved it here.
Bad Tags
The breakfast buffet was good but a bit pricey for what you get, not worth $27 per person. And we tried to go to the Marquee bar twice but it was so cold in there we didn't stay.

The location is about 3 miles from the main attractions around DC. We walked some of the time, but you should probably expect to take a ride sharing service if you are trying to visit the top sites. These usually cost us about $10-$15 per ride.

I realized I had booked the wrong type of room the morning we were scheduled to check-in. I called them and they booked me in the room I had wanted at no additional cost. It's a great hotel for kids- aside from being close to the National Zoo, they gave me daughter a kids pack upon checkin AND they snuck in a big cookie and milk while we were out to dinner. ALSO, the pool i no deeper than 3 feet, 6 inches so little stress on the parents parts. Aside from the main restaurant, all of the food and drink in the hotel is reasonably priced.
Bad Tags
No free WiFi, which I don't understand at all. it's one thing to charge for a faster internet speed, or special functions for games, but there is no reason not to have a free option. Also, parking is $49/day which is pricey.
