There are many things that people think of when they hear Seattle, Washington.  The most common thing that you will hear is that it is a huge costal seaport, but there is more to Seattle than just being a seaport for many different industries. Seattle has gained more nicknames than some of the most popular places in the world. You will hear Seattle be called Queen City, Emerald City, Rain City, Jet City, The 206, Gateway to Alaska, but the most well known nicknames of Seattle Washington is The City of Flowers, or The City of Goodwill.

Seattle is one of the 25 largest cities in the United States. And having such a large population makes it almost impossible to not be the home of many different stars. Seattle has a large history of jazz, and has been where a lot of different jazz performers started their careers. Some of the more well known artists are ray Charles, Quincy Jones, and Ernestine Anderson. However, that is not what Seattle is all about these days. There are many different types of musical talent that floats through the streets of Seattle, but one of the most popular is indie rock and indie dance music. However, being the home of where grunge rock began, Seattle is still one of the few cities that have a large interest in grunge rock music.

The climate in Seattle is much like an ocean front city. There are wet and chilly winters, followed by dry and warm summers. But having so many things to do during any time of the year is always fun, no matter what the weather is bringing in. there are many outdoor activates that you can find in the city of Seattle Washington. There are many different places that you will find hiking, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, motor boating, sailing, swimming, and in many different parks around the city, you will find a lot of team sports between locals, visitors, children, and adults. No matter what corner you turn down you are going to find something that is going to interest you.

Seattle lies on 7 hills throughout The City. These hills are the things that most people know Seattle for. Capitol Hill, first hill, west Seattle hill, Beacon Hill, magnolia, Denny hill, and Queen Anne are the hills that make up most of Seattle’s small neighborhood names. But Seattle is known for many different names other than just the typical Seattle Washington.
